Training For Members Only
South Amboy First Aid offers training to its members on a continual basis.
Members Only
Member training consists of Sunday training sessions throughout the year that focus on training new and current members on equipment and protocols that the squad currently operates on. Our squad instructor is a seasoned EMT and firefighter with years of experience in multiple agencies throughout New Jersey.
Training for First Aid/CPR certified members include:
Training for certified EMT's include (in addition to the above):
Training for First Aid/CPR certified members include:
- Proper lifting/moving techniques and operational functionality for: stretcher, stair chair, reeves, and backboard
- Protocols for responding to calls and what equipment should be prepared
- Location of equipment on all three ambulances
- Basic skills on oxygen administration on a patient
Training for certified EMT's include (in addition to the above):
- Proper equipment necessary for each call
- Skill drills and refresher courses
- Radio communications
- Reports
- Basic command structure
- Public interaction skills
